This accident occurred Sunday, November 11th. The story was posted Tuesday, November 13th. This is an example of spot new. Spot new is news that that is unexpected. It just occurs naturally and someone is there to capture it as it happens or chases it down. I chose this photo because it occurred close to my community and members of my community helped assist with the clean up, so it is relevant to my community. This is a story of a wreck where one individual was killed and 8 were injured; also the hazard team was called in to contain the spill of chemicals.

Shena Hardin a Ohio resident was ordered to hold a sign stating; "only an idiot would drive on the sidewalk to avoid a school bus," after repeatedly driving on the sidewalk to avoid a bus.
I chose this photo because it is so literal and amazing, it really made me feel justice was served. This photo is a representation of general news. General news is news is almost any news that is relevant enough to be considered news but not the main story. The main difference between spot news and general news is spot news is unexpected and on the spot, where as general news is news that happens and is reported on but not on the spot.
